I just received my complimentary copy of great new Laurence King book Made&Sold which features the Cassette Badge series. Looks great, thanks to the guys at Fl@33 for the opportunity to submit and congratulations on a great book.

Chris Clarke

Another one for the BKMD series, friend and London based designer Chris Clarke got in touch to tell us about some new updates at his site including a new journal feature. Lots of nice work and a throughly nice chap, well worth a look. Thanks also for the lovely ‘Thanks’ postcard we received a while back.

Making Our Marque.

We are currently working on a full redesign of all the Effektive stationery and print collateral and just received these rather nice wooden handled rubber stamps through in the mail from supplier Blade Rubber in London. As well as these, we are splashing out on some lovely new foiled 540gsm duplex colourplan business cards which are just about to go of to the printers. See more images of the stamps here. More news soon.

Mark Caneso from PPRWRK Studio got in touch to tell us about a new face that he is releasing called PS.Ratio through his new digital type lab PS Type. A new style each month will be discounted. There are 12 styles so the promo will last a full year. Check it out.

Create Democracy Exhibition

The Create Democracy Exhibition opened last week as part of Design Event 09 in Newcastle featuring two of my designs. The top voted entries on the website were exhibited and could be voted on at the event by posting a vote through the yellow post box or by txt which was linked to a live updatable interactive wall which changed as the night went on based on the votes. As well as the exhibition the top entries as voted will appear in a special Create Democracy book which will be available soon. For information on the book and to see opening night event photos visit here

#TwitterPicture – Johanna Basford

Johanna Basford an illustrator from my hometown Aberdeen, has just completed the first interactive illustration using the micro-blogging platform Twitter. Basford asked her Twitter followers to contribute ideas for her to incorporate into an illustration which she put together live over two days updating every stage with a picture of the slowly forming piece. In the project namedTwitterPicture, she used every suggestion made (238) to create the print of which you can now buy a limited edition silk screen print. The whole project has received a fair bit of exposure over the last few days and is well worth a look.

My bikes better than your bike!

Our friends over at Candy Cranks have released these rather nice “My bikes better than your bike” T-shirts available in black on white or white on black via their online store. There is also CC identity button badges now available. Check them out.

So in a bid to revisit some great sites we have decided to start re-posting all of our lost boomarks to create a visual reference of what made us bookmark them in the first place.
